The Division of Biological Sciences is housed within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia. The Division consists of the departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, and Marine Sciences. The department of Entomology (College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences) and the Odum School of Ecology also contribute faculty and graduate students towards BIOL course instruction. Each department has its own major and degree programs. Due to the tight integration and relatedness of biological disciplines, the Division was created to conduct a degree program in Biology with the participation of these individual departments and faculty. The Director of the Division of Biological Sciences as well as the Director of Undergraduate Degree Programs for the Division of Biological Sciences is Dr. Kristen Miller.
